Horseback Riding & Waterfall Hike: Princeville Ranch Adventure
Princeville Ranch is a beautiful 2,000 acre cattle farm located in the north shore of Kauai. It is a perfect place for horseback riding.
Aftet you get saddled, up, you ride inland, taking in wide open views of this north shore farm. The grassy fields allow riders to spread out and little bit, avoiding the nose-to-tail format of some horseback riding tours in Kauai. Be on the lookout for distant waterfalls, If you look due north, you might catch a glimpse og Kileaua Lighthouse.
Eventually the trail narrows and before you know it, you'll arrive at the trailhead for the waterfall hike. This short but steep trail should be only be challenged by people in good health. A stairway leading through a garden of green helps you navigate the steepest part. The reward at the bottom is totally worth it
Kiliewai Falls is a cascading waterfall that is off limits to the general public. You'll enjoy a picnic lunch and will the opportunity to bathe in the cool freshwater. You can even go behind the waterfall if you like.
The trail is uphill on the way back and shows you some of the waterfalls higher tiers. Some minor rock hoping will be required! Before you know you it, your back on your noble stead, ready for the horseback ride back to camp.
What To Bring:
Pants are recommended and closed toed shoes are required for horseback riding. Don't forget sunscreen, sunglasses, hat and a camera. Bring a bathing suit and towel so you can swim in the waterfall.
