The eastide of Kauai consists the towns of Lihue, Kapa'a & Anahola. You'll find more food trucks here than the rest of the island combined. Happy eating!
Enjoy some delicious BBQ at their Harbor Mall location. Store hours vary so visit Uncle D's Kaua'i - BBQ Restaurant, Disc Golf Sporting Goods (uncledskauai.com) or check out Uncle D's Instagram. You'll also find great food trucks across the stream at Harbor Mall
Great tacos to be sure but what we usually get is the Al Pastor Burrito which is absolutely delicious and filling! This food truck was opened by a lovely woman who took the leap to open her business after working as chef for another mexican restuarant for many years. The truck is at Noka Lane in north Kapaa and there are several other food truck to choose from too.
These pizzas are dangerous as we inhale the entire pie in most cases. These guys really have the flavor down pat and lots toppings to choose from. They are located in the heart of Kapaa town. Also delicious are their wasabi fries. A great extra to share.
An island secret we probably shouldn't tell you about. This is a catering business that does lunch on the side! Daily specials always. The fish is always fresh. There isn't anything on the menu we don't recommend really.
This is a lovely local little spot. Featuring organic, healthy locally sourced foods of all kinds. Try the Acai Bowls. The also have epic organic shave ice.
Located in the abundant farmlands of Kaua'i, Moloa'a Sunrise Juice Bar & Fruit Stand offers freshly made juices, smoothies, coffee, healthy sandwiches, bagels and hot plates. We make our own delicious baked goods and pre-packaged salad items. Healthy, organic and local where possible with vegetarian dishes offered. The only stop between Anahola and Kilauea on Kauai's north shore. a description about this item
Pats Tacos is home to the most glorious mouth watering Kalua Pork Tacos you'll ever have. Order three and you'll be happy. The quesadillas are also to die for. Other food items are great too. Pats open 12-3pm most days. He's low tech so way to call but go to him if you are in Hanalei.
Sushi Girl is a delectable little stand that's epic sushi with the quality ingredients you's find at a fancy place. The big rolls are a pretty generous portion and bursting with flavor. She's located in Kong Long Shopping Center in Kilauea.
Holy Grail whips up these heavenly doughnuts from locally sourced taro. Taro is the root used to make poi but you'll find it's use here to much much tastier. They create a lighter, slightly healthier doughnut that if our mind and pallet, is even tastier than the traditional! Located at the food truck center in Hanalei.
Our favorite! Just take a look at their menu and you'll be itching to try it too. Our favorites include the Ahi Tuna Melt, Awesome Burger, and the Oooey Gooey Grilled Cheese. They are always trying something new so let us know what you should try. They are only open 3 days a week at their home location but they travel the island so check out the website or Instagram. kickshaws808.com
This literal hole in the wall Mexican food stand serves up some seriously dank burritos and tacos that are bursting with flavor. When you order they offer several unique extras that we've had quite positive experiences with. Last time we opted for sriracha and it went great on an otherwise delicious carne asada burrito. Their flavors work great as a burrito bowl too. www.dacrackkauai.com
We miss the old location but when you serve up the fish in south side one simply has to expand. Poke bowls, garlic seared ono, fresh laulau and pork. This is such a fantastic local food place and one of the first ones we mention when visitors ask what is local Hawaiian food like. http://places.singleplatform.com/
