For extra thrill, many of our Kauai helicopter adventures can be flown privately/with the doors off! There is nothing like it. These helicopters being smaller can also be offered as a private tour and you will always have a window seat or at the very least be up front with the pilot.
These private flights are perfect for two or three passengers. It's a 60 minute flight and everyone gets a window seat. Call us directly at 888-508-9948 if do not find availability on the link. We have another company that offers it too.
Almost all the companies use these. The ASTAR can take up to six passengers. Seating distribution sets up two passengers up front with the pilot and four passengers in the back. Couples are never split up and seating placement is based on weight distribution of all passengers. All the seats provide excellent viewing opportunites.
These helicopters are a bit larger and have the same 6 passenger layout as the ASTARS. The flightseeing is about equal so we recommend this option mainly for taller and larger passengers.
Although all the seats provide great views, the front seats are best. It is possible to book the front seats guaranteed through our 1st class seating option. Simply make a request for the front seats when booking your reservation
Choose between two unique landing experiences. The Jurassic Park Falls Landing gets you face-to-face with one of the most famous waterfalls in the world. It's truly breathtaking and the only way to visit this waterfall is by chopper. The Canyon Landing visits the inaccessible Olekele Canyon which is owned by the Robinson Family. Keith Robinson (with the hardhat) often meets the chopper and will discuss his quest to save native plants from extinction.
Both landings are about half hour in duration and include the same amount of aerial flight time as the other tours so you aren't missing out. Landings are done via ASTAR and at this time no 1st class seating options are available. Just general.
Airplane Tours of Kauai are another great way to see the island. The flight pattern is the same as the helicopters tours. The difference is perspective. Airplanes fly higher and farther away and this provides a rather dramatic landscape perspective of the island. Waimea Canyon and Na Pali are incredible from the airplanes. You certainly don't get nearly as close to the waterfalls and narrow valleys but the experience is still awesome. Airplane Tours are a bit cheaper and everyone gets a window seat. Tours are done on 4-6 passenger Australia Airvans or on smaller Cessna which can take 2-3 passengers.
