Wailua River Kayak & Waterfall Hike

- This is Kauai's most popular kayak activity. The Wailua River offers the perfect setting for kayaking, where you'll paddle 2 miles each way up to a trailhead accessible only by boat. From there, a 1-mile hike through a Hawaii Jungle leads you to a beautiful waterfall. The tour option includes a 1-hour stop at the waterfall, allowing you time to swim and soak in the breathtaking setting. Return the way you came, completing a 5-hour tour that's certainly an adventure!

Kayak Rentals
Daily Rentals
- We offer kayak rentals at and near the Wailua River if you prefer to go on your own. We will provide a map so you know how to get to the waterfall hike. Dry bags, coolers and waterproof phone casings are usually available. The riverside kayaks are available Monday -Friday and require no vehicle Transporation. Availability is limited and can only be booked by calling an activity agent.
- Our daily rental location is located a short drive from the Wailua River. You can rent your kayaks for a 5-6 hour time period which is about the same duration as the regular guided kayak and waterfall hike. Our staff will help load the kayaks onto your vehicle and can provide instruction on how to secure them for the drive back. Protective cushions are used to protect the roof of your rentals and all vehicles can transport kayaks except for soft top convertibles.
